OK, I've been retired for two full weeks now and already I'm a little tired of people asking me how I plan to spend my time. Even my (unemployed) adult children ask me this. Do I ask them what they do all day? Here's what they don't do all day: 1) volunteer to help their communities; 2) stay at home cooking frugal meals for one; 3) find new jobs; 4) write long letters to their parents thanking them for their generosity, advanced parenting skills, and general saintliness.
At least (so far) they don't live with me.
I have not found time hanging heavy on my hands. On the other hand, it is clear that without a job it is very easy to 1) eat too much, 2) spend too much money, and 3) nag one's husband too much.
This is an anonymous blog, I hope, which I have not revealed to any but a few close friends. Once I have satisfied myself about this, I hope to blog more.
